A player who plays a lot of starting hands. Generally divisible into three subcategories: loose-ive (also known as a "fish"), meaning a player who plays a lot of starting hands but does not bet them aggressively, loose-aggressive, meaning a player who plays a lot of starting hands and does bet them aggressively, and maniac, meaning a player who plays a lot of starting hands and bets them at an irrational level of aggression, such as 3-betting the flop with 2 undercards and no draw.
