SCOOP 2013
Last night, Viktor Blom closed out the 2013 SCOOP series with a more than $1 Million win after he won the SCOOP Main Event high tournament.
This Event was split over two days, and Day 1 ended with Viktor sitting in second place with 412,539 in chips, just behind the big stack of Tom “7tHEcROw7” MacDonald, who had 426,418 sitting in his virtual stack.
With 72 paid, the bubble was still in place as 73 players made it into day 2, with the fist paid spot being worth $19,140.
It took 10 hands of Hand for Hand action before the bubble burst on Day 2, and the bubble boy was “smokrokflock” when his 4 bet shove with AhQh was called by Sergio “zcedrick” Aido who was holding pocket Tens. The five community cards were of no help, and “smokrokflock” was the last person to finish the event without a profit.
As is pretty usual, the eliminations came thick and fast after the bubble burst, as players who had been holding on for the min cash tried to spin up their stacks.
players who went out early on Day 2 included Jake Cody, Paul “Paolo69” Foltyn, Calvin “Cal42688” Anderson and Eric “jakz101” Crain.
The final of this event had Viktor in 4th place, behind Noah “Exclusive” Boeken, Mike “munchenHB” Telker, and Sergio “zcedrick” Aido. Below are the chips by position as the players went into the last nine.
Seat 1: “Amadi_017” – 423,455
Seat 2: Sergio “zcedrick” Aido – 1,299,847
Seat 3: Mike “munchenHB” Telker – 1,629,266
Seat 4: “cmontopdeck” – 661,773
Seat 5: Noah “Exclusive” Boeken – 2,397,709
Seat 6: “leshkaGmBlZ” – 375,703
Seat 7: “w4ldo” – 699,434
Seat 8: Ravi “govshark2” Raghavan – 387,291
Seat 9: Viktor “Isildur1” Blom – 825,522
We have a video with all the bust out hands leading up to the heads up match.
This left Viktor Blom heads up against Noah “Exclusive” Boeken. Boeken won an EPT back in 2005 as well as a SCOOP title, so has a tournament pedigree and was going to be a challenge for Viktor. Not that Viktor is a stranger to SCOOP titles, as last year he won two in two days.
Boeken started with 75% of the chips in play, and was obviously the favourite to walk away with the SCOOP Watch. With Viktor at the table, a deal wasn’t even discussed. Those of us who follow Viktor would have been amazed if there was.
We have some of the action between these two in the video below, including the final hand of the matchup.
Viktor brought the 2013 SCOOP series to a close with his 3rd SCOOP title, and a sizeable lump of cash.
- Viktor “Isildur1” Blom – $1,096,200
- Noah “Exclusive” Boeken – $803,300
- “cmontopdeck” – $591,600
- Mike “munchenHB” Telker – $446,600
- Sergio “zcedrick” Aido – $313,200
- Ravi “govshark2” Raghavan – $246,500
- “w4ldo” – $188,500
- “leshkaGmBlZ” – $130,500
- Amadi_017″ – $88,740
